FAQ

Questions Kenosha drivers ask us

Straight answers about how we work, what things cost, and what we can and cannot do. If yours is not here, call and ask — we do not mind.

Where is Auto Care & Audio Center located?

5103 32nd Ave, Kenosha, WI 53144. We are just off 52nd Street and easy to get to from most of Kenosha.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. Saturdays are by appointment — call ahead. We are closed Sundays. If you need something outside those hours, call the shop at 262-484-4454 and we will see what we can do.

Do I need an appointment?

Call first. Some jobs we can take same-day; others need a bay and parts lined up. A two-minute phone call tells you which one you are looking at, and saves you a wasted trip.

Do you give estimates before starting work?

Always. We diagnose the problem, quote it, and wait for your approval. If we find a second issue after we are into the job, you get a phone call before anything else is done.

Do you warranty your repairs?

Yes, we provide a warranty on the work we do. Specific terms vary with the repair and the parts used, so ask for the details along with your estimate.

Can I get a loaner vehicle?

Loaner vehicles are available to rent while your car is with us. Availability changes day to day, so mention it when you book.

What makes and models do you work on?

Most domestic and import cars, SUVs and light trucks. If your vehicle needs something we genuinely cannot do properly — certain dealer-only programming, for instance — we will tell you that rather than have a go at it.

Do you really do both auto repair and car audio?

Yes. Full mechanical repair and car audio installation in the same building. It is unusual, and it is deliberate — a lot of electrical problems live exactly where those two trades meet.

Can you fix a car audio or remote start install someone else did?

Regularly. Parasitic battery drains, alternator whine, lost steering wheel controls and dead reverse cameras are common results of a rushed install, and they are all fixable.

How much will my repair cost?

It genuinely depends on the vehicle and what is actually wrong — and anyone giving you a firm number before looking at it is guessing. Call with your year, make, model and symptoms and we will give you a realistic range, then a firm quote once we have diagnosed it.

Do you sell tires?

Yes, new tires in all common sizes, plus rims and tire packages.

What is the legal window tint limit in Wisconsin?

On a passenger car, front side windows must let more than 50% of light through, and rear side windows and the rear window more than 35%. Non-reflective film is allowed on the windshield above the AS-1 line. Rules differ for SUVs and vans, so we confirm the limits for your specific vehicle before cutting any film. More on our window tinting page.

Will a remote starter void my vehicle warranty?

A properly installed one should not. Problems come from installs that cut into factory wiring. We use the correct harnesses and bypass modules for the vehicle — that is the whole reason to have it done professionally.

Do you take vehicles from outside Kenosha?

Yes. Most of our customers are in Kenosha, but we are happy to work on vehicles from around Kenosha County and nearby communities if you are willing to make the drive.

What payment do you accept?

Ask when you book — we will tell you exactly what we take so there are no surprises when you collect the car.
